THE ROYAL SENCHI HOTEL AND RESORT, AKOSOMBO, GHANA

Ghana’s first Four Star Hotel and Conference Centre resort in the Eastern Region awarded Ghana’s leading hotel by the Ghana Tourism Authority, World Travel Awards and the Green Hotel of the year 2015 and included in the top 10 of hotels in west Africa in 2018. World Luxury Hotels African Continental Winner in the Luxury Architecture Design in 2021.

Opened in 2015 this river frontage resort hotel of 84 luxury guest rooms and suites is situated on a 14 hectare plot on the banks of the Volta River. Stone/Beattie were the executive architects, our services including client pre-contract study visits to “Indaba” (Africa’s Tourism Expo), Durban, South Africa and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe; visiting materials (roofing materials) and suppliers (kitchen and laundry equipment, IT software suppliers) in Johannesburg and Durban, South Africa and general and specialist sub-contractors in Ghana; full architectural design and working drawings and schedules; co-ordination of site civils and building structural design and electrical engineering services (Ghana); co-ordination of building services design for hot water services (solar farm) and waste water treatment plant (Botswana/SA); co-ordination of the interior design (Zimbabwe); and landscaping design (SA); regular site meeting attendance (daily site supervision was undertaken by a team of Ghanaian Project Managers) and final client handover.
